Project CO2-9909en
Tropical Mix Land Reforestation Project Panama, Gold Standard VER
Gold Standard VER (GS VER) are high quality emission rights intended for voluntary compensation of CO2 emissions and verified by the Gold Standard Foundation. Verification according to the Gold Standard CER imposes high demands on the performance of social and ecological sustainability of a climate protection project.
We currently use the Gold Standard VERs derived from the Tropical Mix Land Reforestation project in Panama. The project combines reforestation and afforestation activities with biodiversity, protection and ecosystem regeneration, ultimately transforming degraded savanna lands into forests close to nature that produce high quality wood and absorb large amounts of carbon. These forests offer a natural habitat for native species and wildlife, enrich the soil, save and filter the water helping to mitigate the greenhouse effect by acting as a carbon sink.
This climate protection project is registered in the database of the Gold Standard under GS 2940. You can read a summary of the climate protection project here or download the summary:

Gold Standard VER
Verified Emission Reductions (VER) are emission rights that are intended to offset CO2 emissions in the voluntary market. For carbon offset, we choose climate protection projects based on renewable energy or afforestation that, like this project, have been verified by the Gold Standard Foundation.
